Choose a cooler jacket by coverage and layering

This category includes jackets, liners and other layering options; they do not all have the same insulation or purpose.

  • Insulated jacket: S1100 Cooler Jacket lists 7 oz insulation, knit cuffs and a water-resistant shell, with a listed 0°F comfort rating.
  • Longer liner: S1108 Warm Frock Liner offers a different coverage option. Compare length and how it fits under the outer garment you use.
  • Fit and moisture: Check chest and sleeve measurements over your usual layers. Water resistance describes the shell; it does not automatically mean waterproof seams or closures.

Use the exact model’s specifications when comparing a quilted jacket, hoodie or liner. Insulation weight alone is not a temperature rating.
